Westmere Box House: A contemporary Waterfront Retreat

Positioned within one of Auckland’s most desirable waterfront suburbs, Westmere Box House was designed to respond thoughtfully to its unique waterside setting. The home’s distinctive architectural form, integrated landscaping, and green roof elements work together to create a seamless connection between the built form and its landscape.

Designed to balance generous family living with relaxed entertaining, the home combines brick, timber, and metal cladding to create a refined material palette that enhances both its exterior expression and interior character.

Expansive glazing and carefully considered sightlines capture views of the water while maximising natural light throughout the home. Every detail was meticulously executed to achieve a balance between architectural presence, functionality, and environmental performance.

Extensive green roof systems soften the architectural form and strengthen the home’s connection to its natural surroundings.

The result is a sophisticated family home that feels both grounded in its landscape and enduring in its design—a testament to the successful collaboration between client, architect, consultants, and construction team.
