Training and Apprenticeships

Evolution Builders strives to train all staff to the highest calibre.  This is achieved by implementing a four-year apprenticeship, in partnership with the BCITO, which means you learn the trade from the ground up with the best onsite training provided.

We feel it is important for everyone to complete their time, as there is no substitute for hands on experience.  As an apprentice, you will receive one on one training from qualified carpenters over a four-year period.  After this time, you will become a journeyman which is one step away from a fully qualified carpenter.

Once becoming a journeyman, in conjunction with the BCITO, an assessment of your abilities will be made to determine if you are ready to be signed off and receive your Level 4 National Certificate in Carpentry and become a practicing carpenter.

Becoming a tradesman is only the start of a rewarding career in the building industry.  At this point, if you decide to stay with Evolution Builders we will look to continue your training and provide you with the required skills to run projects and become a site manager.

To be a successful apprentice; you need the ability to learn, take instruction, be reliable, honest and trustworthy.  These attributes are the absolute base requirement for anyone hoping to have a career with Evolution Builders.

Evolution Builders will commit to training you with the skills and knowledge that will set you up for a rewarding life long career in the building industry.

You will be remunerated weekly on our set apprenticeship pay schedule that will see you receive two pay rises per year over a four-year apprenticeship period.  We can also offer you a tool allowance to get you started.

A current driver’s licence and a vehicle are required as the work is based around different locations of Auckland.
